With the help of some programs, you can increase the speed of certain video cards. This process can significantly improve the performance of video adapters when working with some applications.
Necessary
- - Riva Tuner;
- - 3D Mark.
Instructions
Step 1
Use the 3D Mark program to assess the current state of health of the video card and track its changes. Install this utility and enable it. Analyze the performance of your graphics card. Remember the received indicators.
Step 2
Now install the Riva Tuner app. Restart your computer and launch this program. Click the Home tab and find the Driver Settings menu. Click the "Configure" button located in this item. In the drop-down menu, select the "System Settings" option (video card icon).
Step 3
First open the Cooler menu. Increase the rotation speed of the fan blades of the video card to the maximum value. Go to the Overclocking menu. To access the settings for the core and memory frequencies, check the box next to the "Enable driver-level overclocking" option. Select the 3D item in the window that appears after clicking the "Definition" button.
Step 4
Select the frequency that you will change initially. Raise it by 40-60 Megahertz. Click the Test button and make sure your video adapter is stable. Now open the 3D Mark program and get an estimate of the graphics card's performance.
Step 5
If no errors were found during the check, then slightly increase the frequency indicator. Perform this cycle until the video adapter is found to be malfunctioning. Now, using the same method, increase the second frequency indicator to the desired level. Be sure to monitor the temperature of the video card.
Step 6
Now check the box next to the "Load settings from Windows" option and click the "Save" button. Restart your computer and run 3D Mark Utility again. Make sure the video adapter is stable. If the video card starts to overheat during the overclocking process, try replacing the thermal paste.
