A laptop is a very useful thing, as it helps you work with important documents, surf the Internet or just play games and watch movies. At the same time, it does not depend on whether there are current sources nearby or not: after all, it is equipped with a built-in battery. However, this very battery can "weaken" from time to time and from improper use, discharging much faster than you would like. To avoid carrying a charger with you all the time, fix your laptop by sorting out the faulty battery.
Instructions
Step 1
For an urgent repair of a laptop battery, you will need a soldering iron with a voltage of at least 40 volts, a breadboard knife, a voltage meter (you can use a multimeter) and new elements. Unlike a new battery, they are relatively cheap.
Step 2
First, completely discharge the battery, and then open it by penetrating it to a small depth in the place where it was glued along the seam. To do this, use a breadboard knife. The elements that you will need to replace are in plain sight.
Step 3
In order to make sure that all batteries are discharged, use a voltage meter to calculate its (voltage) value at the input as well as the output of the cell block. The nominal voltage for lithium-ion batteries is 3.7-4.1 volts multiplied by the number of cells, and for nickel-metal hydride batteries it is 1.2 volts, also multiplied by the number of cells. When you are convinced that there is no charge, proceed to replace the cells. Please note that all battery cells must be replaced, not just faulty ones.
Step 4
New cells must also be discharged before installation. Otherwise, the controller may "think" that they are defective or continue to charge them until the battery explodes. The elements are discharged all at once, and not one by one. Connect them in parallel, minus to minus and plus to plus. A 10-20 W resistor or an ordinary sweetheart can be used as a "discharger".
Step 5
After starting the replacement process itself, take out the old elements, starting with those that have a greater plus. New elements must be inserted in the opposite order. Instead of soldering, it is better to use contact holders to which the connecting wires must be soldered.
