Changing the user profile in the Windows XP version is classified as an administration and will require administrator access. No additional software is required.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button, and open the context menu of the "My Computer" item by clicking the right mouse button. Specify the "Properties" item and go to the "Advanced" tab in the dialog box that opens. Use the Options command located in the User Profiles section.
Step 2
Specify the user profile to be replaced in the profile catalog and click the Change Profile link. Use the option "Roaming profile" and confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking the OK button.
Step 3
Use an alternative method to change the user profile on a Windows XP computer. To do this, return to the main menu "Start" and go to the item "Control Panel". Expand the Performance and Maintenance link and go to the Administration section. Expand the Computer Management node by double-clicking and open the group of the same name in the console directory.
Step 4
Expand the Utilities link and go to the Local Users and Groups section. Expand the "Users" node and open the context menu of the account to be changed by clicking the right mouse button. Specify the "Properties" item and go to the "Profile" tab of the opened dialog box.
Step 5
Type / ServerNameSharedFolderName containing_User_ProfilesUser_AccountName in Profile Path to select the desired profile. Confirm the saving of the changes made by clicking the OK button, and reboot the system to apply the selected action.
Step 6
Another method for modifying a user profile is by modifying system registry entries. However, this action is potentially unsafe and cannot be recommended to an inexperienced user.
