Informational messages that pop up out of place or out of place from the notification area of the Windows taskbar overlap a portion of the open window space of all applications. And since these manifestations of an unnecessarily intrusive OS service do not have a shutdown "button" in the system settings, then over time they begin to annoy and interfere with normal operation. There is, of course, a way to get rid of unnecessary prompts.
Instructions
Step 1
Download a program released by Microsoft that will automatically add the required parameter to the system registry. A program weighing about half a megabyte is hosted on the corporation's server at https://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9648693 and is called Microsoft Fix it 50048. It is designed to work with the registries of Windows XP and Vista
Step 2
Run the program, read the license agreement, if it suits you, then put a checkmark next to the "I Agree" and click the "Next" button.
Step 3
Click the "Close" button after the program has done its job and shows the following dialog box. The changes will be taken into account by the system after the reboot - if you want to do this immediately, then click the corresponding button in the dialog box that will remain on the screen after closing the program.
Step 4
Open the registry editor if you want to do without the Microsoft Fix it 50048 program. To do this, right-click the "My Computer" icon located on your desktop and select the corresponding item in the drop-down context menu. If there is no such shortcut, then open the main menu on the "Start" button and right-click the "Computer" line - this is the same component as the shortcut on the desktop. If you press the WIN and R keys at the same time, then enter the regedit command and press Enter, the effect will be exactly the same - the Windows Registry Editor will start.
Step 5
Go to the registry branch located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer / Advanced. To do this, sequentially expand all the listed folders in the left pane of the editor.
Step 6
Click the Advanced folder, then right-click the free space in the right pane, open the New section in the context menu and select the DWORD parameter line. Then type EnableBalloonTips and press the Enter key. This will create a new parameter with the desired name, and the editor, by default, will assign it the zero value, which is what you need.
Step 7
Close the registry editor and reboot the system, or leave the activation of the changes made to the system settings until the next computer boot.
