Step 1
The Start menu has a Programs section. If you use any utility from this section quite often, it makes sense to pin its shortcut to the general menu that appears when you click on the button. To do this, right-click on the program icon and select “Pin to Start Menu”. To remove this icon from the general menu, select the item of the same name in the context menu.
Step 2
Some users make up the "Programs" section at their own discretion, editing and modifying this list. To remove any element from the "Programs" block, right-click on the folder or shortcut and select the "Delete" line. It should be noted that deleting an item in this way does not delete the program itself from the system disk.

If you want to move the "Start" button together with the taskbar to a new location, you must open the context menu and uncheck the item "Dock the taskbar". Move the cursor over the taskbar, hook it with the left mouse button and drag it to any part of the desktop. Release the mouse, call the context menu again and check the "Dock the taskbar" item.

The Start menu is completely customizable, including its right-hand block, which houses the Control Panel, Run, and so on. To do this, right-click on the Start menu and select Properties. In the window that opens, click the "Settings" button, then mark the items you need and click on the "OK" button to save the changes and close this window.

It may happen that the changes you made are not needed, so sometimes it is much faster to set the default settings. To do this, open the Properties applet of the Start menu and click the Settings button. In the window that opens, click the "Use default settings" item, and then double-click on the "OK" button.
