Step 1
After purchase, the tuner must be installed on the motherboard. Most of these devices plug into a PCI port on your computer. These connectors are usually located under the video card. Open the computer cover by unscrewing the retaining screws and insert the tuner into the appropriate port. The device should easily fit into the hole and lock into it.
Step 2
After installing the TV tuner, close the cover of the computer case and connect the wires that came with the device. If the TV tuner has a built-in radio receiver, install an antenna. If you want to start using the device right now, connect the antenna wire to the corresponding hole or connect any other device you will be working with. After connecting all the wires, turn on the computer.
Step 3
After loading the operating system, you will need to install the drivers for the device. To do this, insert the disc that comes with the tuner into the drive. In the "Found New Hardware Wizard" window, click "Next" and wait until the system detects the inserted disc. You will receive a notification as soon as the installation is complete.
Step 4
After installing the driver, restart your computer. If the installation was successful, you will see a message that the TV tuner is ready for use. Install the programs that are included on the disc that came with your device. Now you can start working on capturing video or watching TV channels.
Step 5
If the driver disk for some reason does not start or has been lost, you can always download the necessary drivers from the Internet. Search for the device manufacturer's website for your board model to download the files you need. After that, run the downloaded installer and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. The TV tuner setup is complete and you can install any video editing and capturing software.
