Hewlett Packard printers are very reliable and of high quality. But there are times when the printer needs to be removed from the system. This may be necessary even if you just purchased a newer HP printer. Before connecting a new model, the old one must be removed from the system, as the software of the previous model may not be compatible with the new device.

Step 1

Before disconnecting the printer from your computer, you must uninstall the printer software. To do this, click on the "Start" button and select "Control Panel". Find the printer software from the list of installed programs and uninstall it. After uninstalling, restart your computer and disconnect the printer.

Step 2

There are times when, when uninstalling the printer software, a window appears showing an error and the uninstallation is interrupted. If you have a similar situation, you need to proceed as follows. Download the Revo Uninstaller utility from the Internet. Install this program on your computer.

Step 3

Run the program. After its launch, a window will appear in which information about all software will be displayed. In this window, find the printer software and left-click on it. At the top of the window is a list of all possible actions. Select the "Delete" action. A dialog box will pop up asking you to confirm the delete operation. Do this by clicking "Yes". In the next window, you need to select the mode of uninstalling the selected software. In this window, check "Advanced Mode" and click "Next". In this mode, the delete operation will be slow. But the program will definitely be removed from the computer.

Step 4

After uninstalling the program itself, the "Found registry entries" window will appear. In this window, opposite the "My Computer" component, check the box and click "Delete" at the bottom of the window. Then click Next. A window will pop up in which there will be a notification that the selected program has been completely removed from the computer. Restart your computer and disconnect the printer.
