FLV is the most common format in which online videos are posted on the Internet. Almost all videos on sites such as rutube and youtube are posted in this format. But it is not included in the standard set of codecs, and if you try to open such a video using the player, you will not be able to do it.

Step 1
Download a special program for watching videos in *.flv format - Flv Player. To do this, download the installation file from the link https://videosaver.ru/flv/FLVPlayerSetup.exe, wait for the download to complete and run it. In the first window, click "Next", in the next one agree to the terms of the license agreement, "Next".
Step 2
Select the location to install the program, in the next window enter a name for the group of program shortcuts In the next window, uncheck all the boxes, click Next. In the last window of the installation wizard, click Finish to complete the installation of the flv viewer.
Step 3
Run the installed file player flv, execute the command "File" - "Open". Select the desired file from your computer, click "OK". Or just drag the file into the player window from the folder. The video file starts playing.
Step 4
Convert Flv to Avi format to watch flv video on consumer player. To do this, download and install the free SUPER software (https://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html). Run it, specify the folder where you want to save the converted video.
Step 5
Then go to the "Settings" menu, set the following values. In the Output Container option - avi format. In the Output Audio Codec option - mp3. In the Frame / Sec option - 25. And finally, set the Bitrate kbps value to 1008. Then drag the file with the left mouse button into the program window. Click on the Encode (Active Files) button, wait for the conversion to complete.
Step 6
Download MPlayer to view flv videos on Mac OS. Follow the link https://www.mplayerhq.hu, select the required version of the program, click the Download link.
Step 7
Wait for the download to complete, unzip the files from the archive, run the Gmplayer file, drag the Flv file into the program window to view it. The program is not installed on the system, therefore, associations with the file type must be created manually.
