The laptop or desktop computer keyboard is one of the most commonly used technical inventions. Write a letter, fill out a form on the site, play a game - for all this, it is simply necessary. But from prolonged use, the keyboard buttons break. Can you fix them yourself?

Necessary

  • - thick needle;
  • - curved paper clip.

Instructions

Step 1

Examine the keyboard and determine the cause of the breakdown. Usually the button, when it breaks, just pops up. It is necessary to consider in detail what exactly is broken at the moment. Pay attention to the principle of attaching the buttons to the keyboard. The button is based on a small square-lock, which can be folded out like a "clamshell". Places for fastening are also marked on the base. The button itself has pins in the size of the base mounts.

Step 2

Take a thick needle to correct the situation if, when the button breaks, its “clamshell” has lost its properties, since the frames have come off. The challenge is to reconnect the two base frames. Carefully and carefully, measuring the strength of the movement, insert the pins of the fasteners of one part of the base into the grooves of the other part of it and fix this position.

Step 3

Then take a curved paperclip. It is needed in order to install the button after fixing the "clamshell" in the correct position. Slightly lift the "clamshell" with a paper clip and in this position, install the button on top. Press lightly until the lock clicks into place.

Step 4

If the keyboard button "exploded" under the fingers and flew out together with the latch, then it is necessary to disassemble the button. To do this, detach the clamshell-lock by snapping off one end and pulling the other out of the ears.

Step 5

On the keyboard, locate the three latch tabs - one larger and two smaller. Take the retainer and slide it over the mounts, starting with the large one. Please note that the lugs are made of aluminum and break easily, after which the button repair turns into a keyboard repair.

Step 6

After the retainer has caught on to the large eyelet, lightly press until it clicks into the two remaining fasteners. Then install the top of the button by simply aligning the slots of the clamshell with the tabs on the cover.
