If you want to get the highest sound quality from your computer, you should pay attention not to computer speakers, but to audio equipment, in particular, good speakers and an amplifier (or receiver). Unfortunately, amplifiers are not always compatible with computer sound card outputs. However, this is just a fixable matter.

Instructions

Step 1

If you are dealing with a high-quality and inexpensive, albeit outdated, amplifier of the times of the USSR, then the easiest way is to buy an adapter cable that allows you to connect the amplifier to the output of the sound card. In the overwhelming majority of cases, it will be a minijack - 5DIN adapter, which is widespread in all radio markets and shops and is cheap. If it was not possible to buy such an adapter, then you can solder it yourself, having previously obtained the minijack and 5DIN connectors. In this case, you need to know the following: the second contact of the 5DIN connector is ground (it is the topmost one), the 3rd and 5th are the left and right speakers, respectively.

Step 2

For more modern amplifiers, you will need an even more common minijack to RCA adapter (aka tulips).

Step 3

If your amplifier (or receiver) has a digital input, then this is the best option. Match the cable (coax or fiber) to your sound card and amplifier input and enjoy the sound.
