Often, when publishing photos taken with the camera turned to one side, you have to use the image rotation technique. Sometimes you want to get a mirror image of an image or its elements. Adobe Photoshop allows you to perform almost all types of image transformations: mirroring vertically and horizontally, full flip, a quarter of a full turn, at an arbitrary angle in different directions.

Step 1
Open the File menu, select Open, select the photo file.
To keep the option to always return to the original image, create a copy of the layer. To do this, select the Layer menu, Duplicate Layer. Make sure the newly created layer is active. It is advisable to perform all further transformations on it.
Open the Image menu, select the Rotate Canvas item. The drop-down list contains commands that allow you to transform the entire image.

The Flip Horizontal command flips the entire image around the horizontal axis.
The Flip Vertical command flips the entire image around the vertical axis.
Step 3
If you need to scale, rotate, skew or deform not the entire image, but its element, Adobe Photoshop offers transformation commands located in the Edit menu.
Open the Edit menu, choose the Transform item. Apply one of the commands to the selected area of the image: Flip Horizontal, Flip Vertical.
Step 4
If none of the standard commands suit your needs, use the Free Transform command. It allows you to transform elements (scale, rotate, skew, etc.) in any order.
As a result of the choice of the command, a dimensional rectangle with transformation markers is displayed on the screen, by moving and rotating which, you can change the size of the element, as well as perform its rotation, skew or arbitrary deformation.
To complete the transformation process, press the Commit transform button on the parameters panel at the top of the window.
If you want to abandon all performed actions, you need to click the Cansel transform button.
Step 5
Save the image under a new name by choosing Save as from the File menu.
