The BIOS update of the video card is not performed unless absolutely necessary. Such measures are usually resorted to after an unsuccessful experiment on it or after spontaneous zeroing of flash memory. The task of restoring a video card is reduced to writing a new firmware into its BIOS.
Instructions
Step 1
To restore video cards with spontaneously erased BIOS, as well as cards damaged by unsuccessful firmware, you will need a second video card. Moreover, if the PCI card is damaged, then an AGP card is needed, and vice versa.
Remove the non-working card from the slot and insert the working one. Enter BIOS Setup and change the order of video cards initialization, the bus with the working card installed should be initialized first. If recovery requires Windows to boot, start the system and install the drivers for the second card.
Step 2
Open the manufacturer's website, go to the Drivers / Unified BIOS section and download the appropriate file. For G450, G200 and G400 boards with newer BIOS versions, the downloaded file must be unpacked, run UBIOSWIN and follow the instructions. If you are using Mystique 220, Productiva G100, Millennium, Millennium 2 or Mystique, then after unpacking the firmware file, you will need to restart the computer in DOS mode, for example, using the Windows 9x disk or a boot floppy disk. Do not run DOS from Windows. After starting the system, press "F8" and select "Safe Mode Command Prompt Only". Once booted into DOS, go to the firmware folder, run the UPDBIOS file and follow the instructions.
