The motherboard is the main part of the computer. For a user, knowing its model is necessary in many situations, for example, to update drivers or upgrade a computer. Especially in the second case, if you do not know the model of the board and its capabilities, you simply will not be able to choose the components that are suitable for it.

Necessary

  • - Computer;
  • - CPU-Z program;
  • - AIDA64 program.

Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way to find out which motherboard is on your computer, without even turning it on, is to look at the technical documentation. There should be a special booklet where the motherboard model and all its characteristics are written. But that's only if you have such documentation. When buying a PC, it might not have been issued, or it might just get lost.

Step 2

There are also many programs with which you can easily identify the motherboard. One of the simplest programs is called CPU-Z. Download it. Some versions of the program run without installation, others need to be installed. Start CPU-Z. After launching it, a window will appear. In it, select the Mainboard tab. In the window that appears, you can view basic information about your motherboard.

Step 3

The third method is suitable for users who want to find out comprehensive information about the device. Search the Internet for the AIDA64 program (distributed under commercial terms). Put it on your computer and then run it. Wait a while, the program will start scanning the system.

Step 4

When AIDA64 starts, in the left window select the "Menu" tab. Now find the Motherboard parameter. Click the arrow next to the option. Next, in the expanded menu, select "Motherboard" again. In the right window of the program there will be detailed information about your motherboard. The window will be split into several sections depending on the data type. At the bottom of the window there will be links to driver updates, BIOS updates and to a page on the manufacturer's website indicating your motherboard model. You can copy the links to the address bar of the browser, or double-click on them with the left mouse button, and the page will open with the Internet browser that is installed on your system by default.
