All settings are hierarchically displayed in the Windows registry. When installing the system itself and additional equipment, all entries about this go to the registry. Consequently, the registry grows over time, and one of the negative effects of this is a decrease in system performance.

To open the registry, you must click the "Start" menu and select "Run". You can also use the keyboard shortcut "windows + R". A dialog box will appear in which you must enter the "regedit" command. A new window will open - the registry window.

The registry must be used with extreme caution, as any change to important system parameters can crash the system. If you are an inexperienced user, then it is better to refuse to use the registry in manual mode. On the other hand, the correct use of the registry can have a positive effect on your system. You will be able to fine-tune resource settings, find and remove malicious code.

Over time, the registry grows in size and is filled with unnecessary information and empty cells. This leads to unstable operation and "brakes". Therefore, you can use special programs for cleaning and defragmenting the registry, which can help increase the performance of your computer.
