To remove an unused operating system from your computer, you must properly clean the hard drive. Sometimes a simple formatting is sufficient, which can be done during a new installation.

Instructions
Step 1
If you need to remove the old operating system while installing the new one, then follow these steps. Begin the boot process for the new system. When the local disk selection menu opens, select the partition where the unnecessary OS is located and click the "Format" button.
Step 2
Proceed with installing the new OS to the formatted partition. The disadvantage of this method is that you can lose the necessary data located on the system partition of the disk. If you need to save these files in advance, then install the new operating system on a different partition. If there is no such partition, then connect your hard drive to another computer.
Step 3
Turn on this PC and install the Paragon Partition Manager program. Restart your computer and run this utility. Open the "Wizards" menu and select "Create Section". Click the "Next" button, having previously selected the advanced user mode.
Step 4
Select a local drive that will be split into two partitions and click the "Next" button. Now check the box next to the "Create as logical partition" option. Select the size of the future local disk. Click "Next".
Step 5
In the "Partition type" item, specify the format of the file system. Enter a volume label and select a letter for the partition. Click the Next and Finish buttons. Find the "Apply Pending Changes" button located on the toolbar and click it. Confirm the operation and wait for it to complete.
Step 6
Connect your hard drive to your old computer. Install the new operating system using the previously created partition. Open the "My Computer" menu and copy all the files you need to a separate drive. Right-click on the local drive where the unnecessary OS is installed and select "Format". Click the Get Started button. Wait for the operating system to be completely removed.
