The conversion of the computer clock to winter and summer time was carried out automatically until their legislative abolition. After this happened, Microsoft, albeit with some delay, released an update that canceled the operation in Windows as well. Computers running the latest versions of this OS have applied this update without asking the user. However, among the users, there were those who, for various reasons, wanted to switch the clock to winter time in manual mode.
Necessary
Windows OS
Instructions
Step 1
Left-click the digital clock in the notification area of the taskbar. A small window with an analog clock and calendar will appear on the screen. At the bottom edge of this window there is a link "Change date and time settings" - click on it to open a separate window with the settings of this OS component. It can be opened in another way: open the main menu of the operating system and type "vre". A set of links will appear in the main menu, at the beginning of which there will be "Date and Time" - click on it. In the window that opens, click the "Change date and time" button and another window will appear on the screen - "Date and time settings".
Step 2
The above methods of accessing the desired settings apply to the latest versions of Windows - 7 and Vista. In Windows XP, this procedure is slightly different - double-clicking on the digital clock in the tray immediately opens the desired window. There are a couple of other ways that are the same in all three recent versions of this OS. One of them uses the "Control Panel" - it is launched by selecting the appropriate item in the main menu and contains a link "Date, time, language and regional standards" (Windows XP) or "Clock, region and language" (Windows 7 and Vista). In another way, the program launch dialog is involved - open it with the Win + R keyboard shortcut, enter timedate.cpl and press Enter.
Step 3
An analog clock is located in the right part of the settings window, and below it is an element for controlling its readings. The numbers in here are divided into three pairs (hours, minutes, seconds), each of which changes separately. Click the hour number and decrease its value by one. This can be done by pressing the down arrow navigation key, by entering the desired number, or by clicking on the arrow to the right of the window with numbers.
Step 4
Close both windows related to time and date settings by clicking OK. This completes the procedure for manually setting the system clock to winter time.
