For this, many applications have developed a special function to turn off the system after the operation is completed. However, if one is not available, you can configure the shutdown yourself at any time convenient for you.

Instructions

Step 1

Use the standard method that does not require the installation of additional software. To do this, open the "Start" menu, find the "Run" item in it. You will see a small window with a line. Enter “at 23:00 shutdown –s” into it. Be careful when entering the command, save spaces in this way. Instead of 23:00, of course, you can set any other time you need. Before shutdown, the system will warn the user so that he can save all the data.

Step 2

Open the catalog of standard programs through the "Start" menu, select "System" in the list and then "Scheduled tasks." The application dialog box will open, click on the "New task" icon.

Step 3

After the task scheduling wizard appears on the screen, select in its window the name of the program, the execution time of which will be determined by you. In fact, you can choose absolutely any item from the list, it will not play any role.

Step 4

Set the frequency of automatic execution of the task, then specify the start and end times of the program. Click "Next".

Step 5

Enter the password for your account, on behalf of which you usually log in to the system. If no password has been set, correct it. Go to Control Panel, then to User Accounts. Select "Set Password". Next, enter it in the scheduled task window.

Step 6

In the Task Scheduling Wizard, check the box next to the "Set advanced options" action and click the "Finish" button.

Step 7

Next, in the menu of assigned tasks for the program of our choice, right-click and select the "Properties" menu item. The address of the program will be written in the line opposite the word "Run", replace it by clicking "Browse" and selecting the shutdown.exe file in the C: WINDOWSsystem32 directory. Apply the changes and close the program.
