Someone said that backups would save the world. In the case of restoring bookmarks in a browser, this statement is more than true. If you're worried about losing your bookmarked links to the resources you need, save them to your computer's hard drive from time to time.
Instructions
Step 1
In the Mozilla Firefox browser, it is possible to create a backup copy of bookmarks in a few mouse clicks. To do this, launch your browser and select the "Bookmarks" item in the top menu bar. Click the left mouse button on the item "Show all bookmarks" or press the combination of keys Ctrl, Shift and B. The dialog box "Library" will open.
Step 2
In the window that opens, in the top menu bar, find the "Import and backup" item and select the "Backup" command. Save your bookmarks to a folder where you can easily find them later. The default bookmarks file is named bookmarks- [year] - [month] - [day].json. Do not save bookmarks on the same disk as the operating system - in case of an unforeseen need to reinstall it, the bookmarks will be lost.
Step 3
To return bookmarks that were previously saved on your hard drive, open the Library window as described in the first steps. In the menu "Import and Backup" select the command "Restore", in the submenu specify the desired file name. If your list of copies of bookmarks is not displayed, click "Select file" and specify the path to the desired file. Close the Library window.
Step 4
If your visual bookmarks are no longer displayed (an option available in the Yandex. Bar add-on), make sure that the add-on is not disabled. To do this, in the upper menu bar of the browser, select the "Tools" item, in the menu that opens, click on the "Add-ons" item, or press the key combination Ctrl, Shift and A.
Step 5
In the window that opens, go to the "Extensions" section and wait until the entire list of installed add-ons is displayed. Find Yandex. Bar among them and make sure that the add-on is active. If not, click the "Enable" button and restart the browser. If the visual bookmarks still don't appear, go back to the Extensions section.
Step 6
Click the "Settings" button in the Yandex. Bar line - a new dialog box will open. Go to the "Settings" tab and in the "Miscellaneous" section, set the marker in the field opposite the line "Show visual bookmarks when opening a new tab or window." Click OK for the new settings to take effect.
