Launching the Recovery Console is the standard recommended operation if the Microsoft Windows operating system does not load correctly, or if it cannot boot. Recovery Console is designed for copying, renaming and replacing files and folders of OS Windows.
Instructions
Step 1
Insert the Windows operating system disc into the drive and restart your computer to initiate the Recovery Console.
Step 2
Confirm to boot from the installation disc when prompted, and press the Enter function key when the Welcome to the Installation Wizard dialog box appears.
Step 3
Specify the operating system to be installed when prompted by the system and confirm administrator access to computer resources by entering a password in a new dialog box.
Step 4
Press the Enter softkey to confirm the selected changes are applied and enter recovery console commands in the console command line text box to define the required diagnostic and / or problem fix commands. An alternative command to get the necessary information about the possible values of the console command line commands is the value help command_name.
Step 5
Confirm execution of the command by pressing Enter, or type exit in the console command line text box to exit the application.
Step 6
Insert the Windows installation disc into the drive to install the Recovery Console on your computer if you need to regularly use it and bring up the main menu of the system by clicking the "Start" button.
Step 7
Go to Run and enter the value (without quotes) "drive_name: i386winnt32.exe / cmdcons" in the Open field for a 32-bit operating system, or use the value (without quotes) "drive_name: amd64winnt32.exe / cmdcons "to install the Recovery Console on 64-bit Windows.
Step 8
Click OK to confirm the execution of the command and click "Yes" in the confirmation dialog box that opens.
Step 9
Restart your computer to apply the selected changes.
