Probably, many PC users got into a situation where the operating system would not start. For example, the computer was constantly rebooting, or a window appeared that displayed an error. This often pushes users to reinstall the OS. Everyone knows that this is a troublesome business, since in this case some of the files are lost and you need to reinstall the drivers. Necessary

  • - computer;
  • - disk with Windows OS distribution kit (XP, Windows 7).

Instructions

Step 1

You will need a disc with your operating system distribution kit. Insert this disc into your computer drive before starting the operation. Turn on your PC. Now you need to enter the Boot menu. Most often, you can use the F5 or F8 keys to do this. Press it immediately after turning on the computer. If with the help of them you were unable to enter the Boot menu, do it by brute force, alternately pressing the F keys until you find the desired one.

Step 2

When you enter the Boot menu, select the optical drive as the system startup source. Wait for the disc to spin up and press any key. If you have a Windows XP operating system, proceed as follows. Wait for the first dialog box to appear. In this window, you can either start the installation of the operating system, or start the recovery process.

Step 3

Press the R key. This will launch the Recovery Console. Run the "Recovery Wizard" according to the prompts. After completing its work, the operating system will be restored. The computer will restart automatically and start normally.

Step 4

In the case of the Windows 7 operating system, proceed as follows. On the first screen, select "Language Options". After that, you will be taken to a screen where there will be an inscription "System Restore". Click on this function with the left mouse button. A window will pop up in which there will be a list of operating systems. In this list, check the Windows 7 OS, then - the item "Use recovery tools" and proceed further.

Step 5

The "Recovery Tools" window will appear. In it, select the "Startup Repair" option. The operating system will be checked for errors, which, if found, will be corrected. If necessary, the system will automatically install the missing files. After recovery, the computer will restart and the operating system will start normally.
