If you use large text documents in your work, for convenience, they should be numbered, which will allow them to be laid out correctly when printing without confusing a single page of it.

Necessary

  • - computer;
  • - a document created in Microsoft Word.

Instructions

Step 1

When creating a multi-page document in tabular or text format, it will not be superfluous to number the pages. And, as it turns out in practice, a completely uncomplicated action. Which is very convenient if you are writing a report, speech text, script, term paper, or writing your own book. Just a few simple steps - and your document will not get messed up under any circumstances.

Step 2

Create a text document in Microsoft Word. To do this, you can right-click on the desktop or on a free space in your folder. Rename the document using the same right mouse button. And double-click the left button to open the document. With other settings, the document can be opened in a different way. To do this, select the document with the left button and use the right button to select the required option in the drop-down window.

Step 3

In an open document on the top toolbar, find the "Insert" menu, open the section and select "Page Numbers" in the drop-down window. Click on the button with this caption and go to the numbering settings menu. In the new window, select the position of the numbers: at the bottom of the page or at the top of the page. Specify the alignment style: left, center, right, inside, outside. Here on the right you can see a sample of what your numbered document will look like. Check or uncheck the "Number on the first page" box.

Step 4

Then click on the "Format" button in the same window and in the next specify the format of the number, if necessary, include the chapter number and select the style and separator. Here, mark how the document should be numbered: continue or start from a specific page. Click OK.

Step 5

Page numbering can be inserted both into a blank document and into a ready-made one. But at the same time, do not forget to distribute the text correctly: it may be necessary to move it somewhere or, conversely, tighten it.
