Quite a common occurrence, especially in offices where a large number of computers have only one printer - printing failures. You sent a document for printing, but for some reason it is not possible to materialize it from electronic form onto paper. What to do in this case? You need to remove the recently sent document from the print queue and restart it.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the Cancel button on the printer itself or in the dialog box that appears on your screen. This is the easiest way to remove a document from the queue. But as you yourself understand, the simplest method is not always the most effective, since not all printer models have a direct print cancellation button. However, if you have solved your problem with this, you should no longer resort to other means.
Step 2
Turn off the power to your printer. This action must be performed in the very case if the printer is not equipped with a "Cancel" button. Turn off the toggle switch located on the front or back of your printer. As in the previous case, this operation is not a solution to all problems, however, it is a sufficiently effective option to remove a document from the print queue.
Step 3
Run the Run command from the Start button menu. Enter the command control printers in the dialog box and confirm its execution by clicking the "OK" button. A window will appear in front of you. Find your printer icon in it. This icon will contain the name of your printing device as listed for your operating system. Click on this icon with the right mouse button and select "Open". A window will appear in front of you. Find the “Document” column and select the job sent to the printer that you would like to cancel. To do this, right-click on the selected task and select "Cancel" in the list of actions that appears.
Step 4
To remove all documents from the print queue, select Clear Print Queue from the printer menu. This procedure is the most effective, but as you have already seen, it is the most time consuming. Therefore, if the manipulations described in the previous paragraphs did not bring the expected results, resort to the above-described sequence of actions.
