Instructions

Step 1

To avoid accidentally entering a dangerous page, configure the appropriate settings. Launch Mozilla Firefox browser. In the "Tools" menu, select "Options". A new dialog box will open. Go to the tab "Protection" in it. Place a marker in the "Block sites suspected of attacks" field and in the "Block sites suspected of fraud" field.

Step 2

In order not to be distracted from your work by useless advertising, go to the "Content" tab. Place a marker in the "Block pop-ups" box. If necessary, click on the "Exclusions" button and add to the list the addresses of those sites that are allowed to open pop-up windows. Apply the new settings with the OK button.

Step 3

If your browser is not enough for you, install a Firefox add-on with which you can block any element on the page or domain, for example, Adblock Plus. To install the add-on, go to the official website at https://addons.mozilla.org and search for Adblock Plus in the Privacy & Security category.

Step 4

Click on the "Add to Firefox" button and wait for the installation to complete. Restart your browser. If the plugin icon is not displayed on the toolbar, open the "Add-ons" item through the "Settings" menu. Select the "Extensions" section. Find Adblock Plus in the list and click on the "Settings" button. In the window that opens, set the marker in the "Show in the add-ons panel" field.

Step 5

In order to add any item to the blocked list, click on the Adblock Plus icon and select "Open list of items" from the menu. A new window will be added, which will display a list of images, objects, frames, scripts present on the page that can be blocked. Select the required line and right-click on it. In the context menu, select the "Lock Element" command.
