In early August 2012, the Chinese company Lenovo, one of the three largest manufacturers of personal computers, officially presented a new tablet - ThinkPad Tablet 2 to the general public. with a degree of confidence to name the date.
At the presentation, representatives of the company emphasized that the device is designed to run the full version of the latest operating system Windows 8. And since the official release of the G8 is scheduled by Microsoft in mid-autumn this year, the start of the release of the tablet computer from Lenovo should be expected at about that same time. If the operating system manufacturer goes according to schedule, sales of the ThinkPad Tablet 2 could begin as early as October 26, which marks the official release date for Windows 8.
Linking the start of sales of the tablet to the schedule of Microsoft's work on the new OS is caused primarily by the fact that the device uses the Intel Clover Trail Atom processor. This dual-core computer is designed specifically for tablet computers, taking into account the new capabilities of Windows 8. However, focusing on a Microsoft product does not mean that ThinkPad Tablet 2 will not be able to run, for example, Linux.
The tablet weighing 650 grams will be equipped with a 10 IPS-display, which will provide a screen resolution of up to 1366 by 768 pixels. The built-in 2 GB RAM in the new device is supplemented by 64 GB of flash memory. Of the additional devices, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 is equipped with two cameras with a resolution 8 and 2 megapixels, fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi wireless module, as well as GPS, NFC and LTE modules. This mobile computer has a pair of built-in speakers and a stereo microphone, and there are very few connectors for connecting external devices - a micrSD card slot, miniHDMI connector for an external monitor or TV, microphone jack and USB 2.0 port included with your computer from Lenovo, accessories will include a USB docking station, keyboard dock, and stylus.
