Despite the fact that routers belong to the category of high-tech devices, there are problems in their work. Apparently, this is a common problem of any computer equipment, which, due to long-term operation, although rarely, still fails. At the same time, you may often need to simply reboot the router for such problems to disappear.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the router settings by entering the address 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 in the browser line. It usually has a separate button for the Reboot command. To reboot the router, click this button. When pressed, a warning will appear stating that the connection will be interrupted during the restart. This operation takes about 1, 5-2 minutes. If none of the specified addresses of the settings page came up, check it in the instruction manual of the router. However, sometimes it is not possible to enter the settings precisely because of a device malfunction. In this case, you will need to reboot the router forcibly.
Step 2
Often the design of a router assumes the presence of a reset button on the back of its case and a so-called hard forced reboot. After pressing it, the connection through the router is lost, and the specified information is erased. Next, you have to re-register all the parameters of the router's connection with the Internet and the local network (if any).
Step 3
Another option that belongs to the category of undesirable, but working, and therefore having the right to exist, is the forced power off of the router. To reboot the router, unplug the power cord. This will terminate all established connections. However, the LAN and Internet connection settings specified on the device settings page will remain. When you plug the router back into the network, you will see that after a while it will establish a new connection to the Internet, which you can use as usual.
