Stopping or canceling the restart of a computer running Windows is a standard function of the operating system that can be done in several ways. No additional software is required.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main system menu by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "All Programs" item. Expand the "Standard" link and select the "Command Line" item. Print

in the command interpreter text box and confirm the selected action by pressing the softkey labeled Enter.
Step 2
Note that you can set the timeout using the / tnnn parameter, where nnn is an interval from 0 to 600 seconds. It should also be remembered that this operation assumes that the administrator has access to the resources of the computer.
Step 3
Call the context menu of the "My Computer" desktop element by right-clicking and select "Properties". Click the Advanced tab in the boot and recovery dialog that opens and click the Options button. Uncheck the box next to "Automatically restart" in the new dialog box and confirm the changes made by clicking OK. This action will result in the display of a "blue screen of death" when an error occurs with a description of the cause of the system failure.
Step 4
Go back to the main Start menu to use another method to stop restarting your computer and go to the Run dialog. Type cmd in the "Open" line and again confirm the launch of the command line utility by clicking OK. Print

Step 5
Reboot the system and press the F8 function key while booting starts to enter BIOS mode. Select the "Disable automatic restart on system failure" command from the menu of secure boot options that opens and save the changes.
