The need to reset or reboot the Bios is not so common. Freezing and incorrect operation of Bios can be caused by many reasons: power surge, power supply failure, etc. If the system time is constantly reset to zero in Bios, the settings are not saved, which means that they require resetting the Bios settings. There are two main ways to reboot Bios.

Necessary

Computer, Bios battery, small Phillips screwdriver

Instructions

Step 1

The first method does not require opening the lid and manipulating the components inside the system unit. Turn on the computer and press the Del key continuously until the Bios menu appears. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select the EXIT menu and then the Load Optimized Defaul line. Click “Save & Exit Setup”.

Step 2

Wait for the computer to restart and start the Windows operating system. Then reboot the computer yourself and during the reboot press the Del key until you get to the BIOS menu.

Step 3

Now run a test to see if it works correctly. To do this, set the date and time and click “Save & Exit Setup”. Then you should wait until Windows restarts and starts. Check the date and time that you set up in Bios with the date and time on the clock on your desktop. If everything matches, then Bios again saves the settings and works fine.

Step 4

But there are times when this method does not help. Then you need to use another method. Disconnect the computer from the power supply completely. Open the cover of the system unit by unscrewing the retaining screws.

Step 5

Find the Bios battery on the motherboard. This is a regular round battery that attaches to the computer's motherboard. It's hard not to notice her. Use a wooden toothpick or a regular match to remove the battery from the socket. Wait about five minutes and carefully, so as not to damage the contacts, insert the battery back into the slot. Close the lid of the system unit.

Step 6

Such an action should completely reboot and reset the Bios settings. Enter Bios (as described above), configure all parameters (date, time, cooler operation mode) and click “Save & Exit Setup”. After the computer restarts, see if the settings that were entered in the Bios are saved. If the settings are the same, then Bios has rebooted and is working correctly.
