Accustomed to the fact that in the Windows operating system, basic commands are activated by a double click of the mouse, one might be surprised to learn that the same commands can be activated with a single click. This can be done after changing the system settings or using an additional mouse button.
Instructions
Step 1
To configure a regular 3-button mouse to activate commands in one click, open "My Computer" or any other Windows Explorer window. If your computer is running Windows XP, choose Folder Options from the View menu.
Step 2
If your computer is running Windows 7 or Vista, click Organize in any Windows Explorer window and select Folder and Search Options. The Folder Options dialog box appears.
Step 3
Under Mouse Clicks, select the check box next to One-Click Open, Select with Pointer. If desired, here you can also activate the option "Underline icon labels on hover." After completing the settings, close the window by clicking the "OK" button.
Step 4
Now all commands that previously had to be double-clicked to activate will be activated with one mouse click. For example, to open any file or run a program, it will be enough to click once on the icon.
Step 5
If you are the owner of a mouse model that has additional buttons, you can configure one of them to activate commands with one click. To do this, you should use special software from the manufacturer of the mouse, with which you can configure additional buttons.
Step 6
Such programs are usually recorded on the disc that comes with the mouse. If you do not have a disk, you can download the required application on the official website of the manipulator (mouse) manufacturer.
