The pdf format allows you to save uploaded documents, books, abstracts to your computer in their original form. They are opened using a special program Adobe Reader. There are several ways to extract text from pdf.

Step 1
Check the version of Adobe Reader installed on your computer. To do this, select the shortcut on the desktop with the name of the program, right-click, in the pop-up menu, select the item "Properties" (it is the most recent). In the window that opens, opposite the program icon, there will be the name Adobe Reader, followed by a number. It represents the version (for example, Adobe Reader 9). The most recent versions are 9 and 10.

Open the pdf text you want to extract. If you have one of the latest versions of Adobe Reader installed on your computer, there is a Save as text function. Select this command, and the text of the document will become available for editing.

Also for extracting a paragraph of text there is a tool "Selection" / Text select. Use it when working with a piece of text you need to correct. Extend the rectangle over the entire section you want. Use the right mouse button to copy the selection. It will be saved to the clipboard. Open the text editor you are using. Paste the copied text. Edit it as you see fit.
Step 4
There are situations when the text is protected from copying and correction. In this case, use special programs for text recognition. It can be either one of the OCR programs (for example, OmniPage or ABBYY FineReader); converter software (ABBYY PDF Transformer, etc.)

It allows you to download a source file of any size, does not require email. Once on the page, select "Browse". Provide the path to the source file. Use the Upload and Convert button to confirm your selection. After a while, the program will give you a file ready for editing in text format.
