There are several ways to perform the CD autoplay enable operation, but none of them requires the use of additional third-party software, although some require a basic understanding of computer resources.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button and go to "My Computer" to perform the operation to enable the CD AutoRun function.
Step 2
Call the service menu of the required disk by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Properties" command.
Step 3
Go to the "AutoPlay" tab of the dialog box that opens and specify the desired action when CD / DVD discs are detected.
Step 4
Go back to the main Start menu and go to Run for an alternate operation to enable AutoRun CDs.
Step 5
Type regedit in the Open field and press the Function key Enter to confirm the launch of the Registry Editor tool.
Step 6
Expand the registry branch
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / System / CurrentControlSet / Services / cdrom
and call the context menu of the AutoRun value in the left part of the window by clicking the right mouse button.
Step 7
Select Modify and enter a value of 1 in the value field.
Step 8
Go back to the main Start menu and go to Run to enable the AutoRun CD feature in another way.
Step 9
Enter gpedit.msc in the Open field and press the Enter softkey to confirm the launch of the Group Policy Editor tool.
Step 10
Expand the User Configuration node in the Policy: Local Computer group and select the Administrative Templates section.
Step 11
Select the item "System" (for Windows Xp) or "Autorun Policies" (for Windows Vista) and open the context menu of the item "Disable autorun" by clicking the right mouse button.
Step 12
Specify the "Properties" command and apply the checkbox to the "Not set" field.
Step 13
Click OK to apply the selected changes.
Step 14
Call the context menu of the "Default autorun operation" component by right-clicking and go to the "Properties" item (only for Windows Vista).
Step 15
Apply the checkbox to the "Not configured" field and confirm the application of the selected changes by clicking OK (only for Windows Vista).
