Valve Studio is able to accurately identify trends in the computer games market. Moreover, she often creates these tendencies herself. The shooter Left 4 Dead is an excellent example of this: it is one of the first games to fully rely on co-op playthrough. The project was implemented so well that many players to this day pay considerable attention to it - and continue to organize network matches.
Instructions
Step 1
Unpin the game from Steam. Formally, creating a match through the console, you bypass the official servers, cooperating directly with the player you want. Obviously, when you break the rules, you will constantly come across warning messages from the developers. To avoid unnecessary inconvenience, you need to do the following: download the official Steam client, go to the "Games" item and click on "add a third-party game to the library". Left 4 Dead will act as a side game. By presenting the product in this quality, you completely abandon the official bonuses (however, no one bothers to "reconnect" the game to the client later).
Step 2
Install a local network emulator. This can be Garena, Hamachi or Tunngle. Please note that each member of the virtual network is assigned a personal IP.
Step 3
Start the game and enable the "console" option in the settings menu. Return to the main menu and press the "~" (Russian "Y") key.
Step 4
The creator must enter in the console: "map", and then select the name of the map from the list that appears. After pressing "Enter" the program will automatically load the level and create a match. On the other hand, his companions should write: "connect 1.1.1.1:25017", where instead of ones - the IP address of the creating player, which was given to you by the emulator program. If there is no interference, the players will join the match.
Step 5
Check blocking programs. It can be Windows Firewall, Firewall, or antivirus. Also, the connection may not be established due to the low speed of the Internet connection and the incorrectly entered IP (check for operability of each of the three programs indicated, they work according to slightly different principles). Also, make sure all playing computers have the same version of the game installed, and if you're playing a hobbyist mod, everyone has it.
