Protecting your computer with a password often seems unnecessary at home. Family members prefer not to make life difficult for themselves by creating different accounts and memorizing digital combinations. If, after weighing all the pros and cons, you decide to remove the password in Windows, follow our instructions.
It is necessary
- 1. Administrator password;
- 2. Password reset disk.
Instructions
Step 1
Start your Windows version and log in as Administrator. Go to the Start menu, select Control Panel. Then click the User Accounts and Family Safety icon. Click User Accounts.
Step 2
At first, you will only see the administrator account. If you want to remove the administrator password, click Remove your password (to the left of the picture). To do this, you need an administrator password.
Step 3
To remove the password for another account, click Manage Another Account. Select the required account from the list. To the left of the picture, click Remove your password. To do this, you will need to enter the current password (not the administrator, but the account that you are changing).
Step 4
In order that when you turn on the computer you do not have to enter a password under any circumstances, you need to delete all unnecessary accounts. Click - Start / Control Panel / User Accounts and Family Safety / User Accounts / Account Management.
Step 5
Click on the account, to the left of the picture, click Delete account. When uninstalling, Windows will ask you if you want to keep the user's files on the computer. If you don't need the files, click Delete Files. If you want to save the files, select Save Files. Confirm the deletion of the account by clicking the Delete account button.
Step 6
There is also a Guest account. You cannot delete it, you can only disable or enable it. Disable it and you will be left with an administrator account. If the password is removed from the administrator account, you do not have to enter the password when turning on the computer.
Step 7
If you have forgotten the administrator password or do not know it, you can use the password reset disk, if you have one. Such a disk is created once and allows you to set a new password for the administrator account. Once access to the administrator account is restored, proceed with deleting all passwords.
