Authentication of the Microsoft Windows operating system is performed by a special update number KB971033. The result of this check may be a "black screen of death" and the impossibility of continuing work. The easiest way to get rid of this problem is to restore the system from a backup. If this is not possible, use an alternative method.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "Control Panel" item.
Step 2
Select the Small Icons option from the Category menu at the top right of the window and expand the Windows Update link.
Step 3
Go to "View update log" and select the "Installed updates" section.
Step 4
Call the context menu of the required update KB971033 and select the "Delete" command.
Step 5
Return to Control Panel and go to Windows Update to complete the procedure to disable the selected update.
Step 6
Click the "Check for Updates" button and wait for the system message to appear stating that there are available updates.
Step 7
Select a proposed update and uncheck its box.
Step 8
Call the context menu of the update line by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Hide update" command.
Step 9
Restart your computer to apply the selected changes, and use Windows Activator to restore all functionality to the Windows operating system.
Step 10
Return to the main Start menu and go to Run to use an alternate method to remove Windows Authentication (for Windows XP).
Step 11
Enter regedit in the Open field and click OK to launch the Registry Editor tool.
Step 12
Expand the registry branch
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Microsoft / Windows NT / CurrentVersion / Winlogon / Notify / WgaLogon
and delete the entire WgaLogon partition (for Windows XP).
Step 13
Restart your computer to apply the selected changes.
Step 14
Use RemoveWAT21 to remove Windows Authentication (Windows 7 only).
