The most popular and widespread operating systems on users' computers are Windows XP and Windows 7. For security reasons and sharing access to resources and documents, they use a password request system when the computer is turned on, and sometimes even after it resumes from standby mode. This can be useful for those who are not alone in using the capabilities of a PC. And for those who do not need to protect their data, or to speed up the system boot process, it will be useful to disable this function.
Instructions
Step 1
Press the "Start" button or its equivalent with a logo in the form of a window with the left mouse button. This button is located in the lower left corner of the screen. You can also open this menu by pressing the Windows logo button on your keyboard.
Step 2
Find the "Run" menu and put the mouse cursor on this line. A command entry dialog for execution will open. From here, you can invoke the User Account Control Console - the very tool you need. Alternatively, press the Windows logo key and the Latin letter R on your keyboard. The same command entry window will open.
Step 3
Type the following text on the line: control userpasswords2. If a window appears asking you to confirm the operation, click the "Yes" button. Please note that your account must have administrator rights to complete this action.
Step 4
Select your account in the window that opens - it will have a title like "User Accounts". Just below the heading, find the line "Require password and username" and uncheck this item.
Step 5
Click on the "Apply" button at the bottom of the window. A dialog will open asking for your password - enter it twice. If you do not have a password, then leave both fields blank. Confirm your actions by clicking on the OK button. Restart your computer - you no longer need to enter passwords and wait an extra couple of seconds for the system to start.
Step 6
Additionally, Windows 7 users: To disable the password prompt when waking up from sleep or hibernation, you must disable this setting in the computer's power settings.
Step 7
Open the "Start" menu by clicking on the button in the lower left corner of the screen. Type in the help line and start programs the word "power" and click on the icon at the top of the menu.
Step 8
In the action column on the left, find the link "Prompt for password on wakeup". Select the "Do not ask for a password" item with a dot and click the "Save changes" button. This operation also requires administrator rights in the system.
