In the Windows operating system, it is possible to set a password for each account. The field for entering it appears in the welcome window even before the system is fully loaded. This precaution enhances the security of your computer. If for some reason you need to disable the password prompt at boot, you need to take several steps.

Instructions

Step 1

Log in with your account. From the Start menu, select Control Panel. If you do not see this item, right-click on the taskbar and select Properties from the drop-down menu. On the "Start Menu" tab, mark the first box - "Start Menu" with a marker and apply the new settings.

Step 2

Alternatively, click the Customize button next to the Classic Start Menu item and mark the Expand Control Panel item in the Advanced Start Menu Options box with a marker. Click OK.

Step 3

It doesn't matter in what form the control panel is displayed - classic or by category - click on the "User accounts" icon and select the "Change account" task. You will see a list of accounts where actions are available.

Step 4

Select the required account, for example "Administrator", by clicking on the corresponding icon with the left mouse button. Select "Change password" from the proposed tasks. You will see a window with four fields to fill out.

Step 5

In the first field "Enter your current password" enter the password that you used to log in to the system, and leave the rest of the fields blank. Click the Change Password button. The next time you boot the operating system, you will not be prompted for a password.

Step 6

Remember that a password is needed not only to protect your computer from unwanted users, but also to perform certain operations, for example, to shut down your computer on a schedule. To re-set the password, open the "Control Panel" and select "Change account".

Step 7

After checking the required account, select the task "Create password". Enter the new password in the first field, enter it again to confirm it in the second field and click the "Create password" button. Close Control Panel.
