If you are the only user of your computer or there is simply no reason to build obstacles to logging into the computer for all other users, then asking for a password at every boot simply loses its meaning. The sequence of actions for disabling the standard password prompt screen and user selection is described below.

Instructions

Step 1

Logging in without asking for a password and selecting a user will occur automatically and without any additional system settings if only one user account is registered in it without specifying a password. Therefore, solving the problem by eliminating all but one of the accounts seems to be the simplest. However, this should not be done, since some application programs and system components create hidden accounts for their work “for official use”. This, for example, is done by the ASP. NET framework used by many applications, so you should use another method that requires administrator rights. That is, the first step should be to log in with administrator rights.

Step 2

The second step will be to open the "Run Program" dialog. To do this in the main menu (on the "Start" button) you need to select the "Run" item or just press the WIN + R key combination.

Step 3

Now type or copy from here and paste (WIN + C and WIN + V) into the input field the text "control userpasswords2" (without quotes) and press the Enter key or the OK button. The command you entered works the same in Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows Vista. On Vista and Seven you can also use the "netplwiz" command (without quotes).

Step 4

This utility will open a window titled "User Accounts". In the list of users, you need to select the one you need and uncheck the box next to the inscription “Require username and password” located above this list. Then click the "OK" button.

Step 5

The utility will require additional information by opening a window titled "Automatic Login". You need to enter your password and click the "OK" button. However, if the user account you selected does not have a password, then leave this field blank to complete the configuration of automatic login without prompting for a password.
