Inkjet printers have a special counter that records the amount of waste ink. Upon reaching a certain level, this counter blocks the operation of the printer and suggests contacting the manufacturer's service center. You can work around this problem by resetting the counter. Let's consider resetting the counter using Epson printers as an example.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the SSC Service Utility from the manufacturer's website. After installing the program, you need to configure it to work with the printer.
Open the program and go to the "Settings" tab. Select the installed printer and its model from the drop-down lists.
Step 2
Go to the Ink Monitor tab and click the Refresh button, the printer status information will be displayed. If the words "Error" and "Counter overflow" appear in the lower part of the window, then the program can work with the printer, and the ink counter has reached an acceptable level. Minimize the program to tray.
Step 3
By right-clicking on the program icon, you can view the current and maximum counter values in the menu that opens.
Step 4
To reset the counter, in the context menu of the program icon, select the "Reset working counter" item. Answer “Yes” to the question “Did you replace the absorbent pad”. Restart the printer and it will start up normally.
