With active use of an inkjet printer, ink begins to run out quickly. Therefore, it is very important to track the ink level, otherwise printing may end at the most inopportune moment. To monitor the status of cartridges, there are special programs that come with the printer driver.
It is necessary
disk with drivers from the printer
Instructions
Step 1
It is impossible to know the ink level just by looking at the cartridge from the side. The very first sign of low ink is blurry and poorly printed areas.
Step 2
Devices with their own display have a corresponding item in the settings. For example, in Epson printers, you need to click on the "Setup" button, select "Ink Levels". The display will then show the remaining ink level.
Step 3
In Windows, the status of ink cartridges can be checked using the Status Monitor program, which is supplied with the device on the driver disc.
Open the Status Monitor by double-clicking the left mouse button on the printer icon in the taskbar. A chart opens showing the amount of ink in the cartridges.
Step 4
In order to determine the level of ink in cartridges from HP, there is also a special program. Click the "Start" button, select "All Programs" - "HP", click the folder with the name of the HP product. Click on the Estimated Ink Levels tab, which will display a graph showing the approximate ink levels in the cartridge.
Step 5
Checking ink in Canon devices is carried out in the same way by clicking on the printer icon in the taskbar.
Step 6
If you purchased “third party” cartridges (from a different manufacturer), the software cannot determine the exact toner level. As a rule, the surface of such cartridges is made of translucent plastic, so the amount of remaining ink can be viewed by removing the device from the printer.
