Some peripheral devices require additional software or drivers to work properly. Distinguish between automatic and manual search and installation of working files.

Instructions
Step 1
Turn on your computer and connect the printer cable to its USB port. Connect the other end to the Canon lbp 2900 device. Turn on the printer and wait while the operating system detects new hardware.
Step 2
Connect to the Internet, launch an Internet browser and visit www.canon.ru. Go to the Support section and open the Driver Catalog subsection.
Step 3
Fill in the table provided. Be sure to select Printer in the Product column. After switching to the new menu, select the "Software" item. Now select the operating system installed on your computer.
Step 4
Click on the appropriate archive named Printer Drivers. Check the box next to "I accept the terms of the agreement" and click the "Download" button. Wait for the driver download to complete.
Step 5
Open the Start menu and select the Devices and Printers menu. After defining the printing device, double-click on its icon with the left mouse button. Open the Hardware tab and click the Properties button.
Step 6
Go to the Drivers submenu and click the Update button. Go to "Search this computer". Select the folder where your browser saves downloaded files. Wait until the drivers for the printer are installed.
Step 7
If you prefer to use additional utilities to find the necessary files, download Driver Pack Solution. Run the utility and wait for the scan of internal and peripheral devices to complete.
Step 8
Now check the box next to Printers and Others. Click the Install Selected button. Reboot the printer after installing the selected files. Start a text editor and test the operation of the printing device.
