The Num Pad is a special side part of the keyboard designed for more convenient input of numbers, which are located similarly to the sequence on the calculator. However, it is absent in many notebook and netbook models.
Instructions
Step 1
If your laptop has a full keyboard, turn on the side keyboard mode by pressing the Num Lock key in the upper right corner. In this case, one of the LEDs should light up, if any. The mode is disabled in the same way. This is a very handy feature if you often need to enter numbers from the keyboard, use a calculator, and so on. It is also convenient to use it to control various computer games, but recently it has become less common, especially in netbooks.
Step 2
If your keyboard is incomplete, find out if your laptop (netbook) model supports the Num Pad. To do this, follow the corresponding request in the search engine. It will also be quite enough just to find the numbers on the right side of the letter keys. To enable the Num Pad, you need the Fn + NumLk combination. In this case, the corresponding icon should appear on the screen, notifying the user about the change in the mode of entering numbers. Also, the command for switching numbers can be any other key combination, for this, read the instructions for your device.
Step 3
If you want to change the buttons of the digit switching command to those that would be more convenient for you, use the special KeyTweak utility or any program convenient for you. They are all fairly easy to use and have an intuitive interface.
Step 4
If your laptop does not have a Num Pad, please purchase it separately from a dedicated computer store. For the most part, they are easy to use, connect to the USB port of a laptop and turn on in the same way as the built-in keyboard or by pressing a special button, and many of them do not require the installation of a device driver. You can also find wireless versions of the Num Pad.
