There are times when text in a document needs to be placed in a non-standard way, for example, to rotate it vertically. In the Microsoft Office Word editor, you can use the available tools for this purpose.

Instructions

Step 1

If you don't want to format the text yourself, you can use a ready-made template. Click the Office button in the upper left corner of the window and select New from the context menu. On the left side of the window that opens, select a template in which the text is already turned in the direction you need. Click on the "Create" button in the lower right corner of the window and enter the text you need in the template.

Step 2

To set the direction of the text yourself, go to the "Insert" tab in the editor window. In the "Text" section, click on the "Label" button. In the drop-down menu, select one of the thumbnails or the item "Draw an inscription". The cursor will change its appearance.

Step 3

While holding down the left mouse button, mark the boundaries of the future label, then just release the mouse button and position the cursor in the area you just created. Enter text in the field in the same way as you would normally. As long as the mouse cursor is within the drawn boundaries, the Text Boxing context menu is available in the editor. Make the "Format" tab active and find the "Text" section. Press the Text Direction button until the text you entered is in the direction you want.

Step 4

To move the text box to another part of the document, move the cursor to one of the corners of the form. When the cursor becomes double-headed arrows, hold down the left mouse button and drag the shape. Having decided on the position of the label on the page, hide the borders of the form. On the Label Tools context menu, on the Format tab, find the Label Styles section. Click on the Shape Outline button and select the No Outline option from the drop-down menu.

Step 5

By the same principle, you can place text in a table cell and rotate it in the desired direction. Open the "Insert" tab, in the "Table" section, click on the button of the same name and select "Draw Table" from the context menu. Enter text in the table cell and go to the "Table Tools" context menu to the "Layout" tab. In the Alignment section, use the Text Direction button to set the text direction you want. Hide the borders of the table.
