In order to tell your friends about how you spent your vacation, it is not necessary to upload a long video about your adventures to a video hosting site. It is enough to make a short but dynamic cut from the footage.
It is necessary
- - Movie Maker program;
- - video.
Instructions
Step 1
Watch the video from which you are going to cut by opening it in any video player, and determine which parts of the video you need. Make a cut plan, which will indicate in what order and which episodes will appear in the final video. Record the start and end times of each slice in the 0:00 format. This will make it easier for you to find the desired episode and speed up your work.
Step 2
Open the video file in Movie Maker. To do this, open the folder with your video in the explorer and drag the file with the mouse to the video editor window. By importing the file in this way, you will not have to deal with the large number of short clips into which Movie Maker splits the video imported using the Import Video option in the Movie Operations window by default.
Step 3
Drag the video to the timeline at the bottom of the video editor using the mouse. Find the beginning of the first fragment of the future slicing. To do this, move the cursor over the time-stamped scale. The timecode of the current frame appears next to the pointer. Move the cursor to the point that you marked in the plan as the beginning of the first fragment and click the left mouse button. Cut the video using the Divide command from the Clip menu.
Step 4
Select the video fragment preceding the cut place by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Delete this fragment using the Delete key.
Step 5
Find the end of the first fragment to be sliced and place the cursor pointer in this place. Cut the video using the same Cut command.
Step 6
Find the beginning of the next video segment. Cut the video in front of it and delete the unnecessary video segment that is between the two scenes you selected for cutting. To delete a fragment, select it and press the Delete key. In the same way, delete all unnecessary fragments from the timeline.
Step 7
Change the order of the fragments if necessary. The most convenient way to do this is in storyboard mode. Switch to it using the button above the timeline. Each slice is now displayed as a rectangle with the first frame of the video. Change the order of the video clips with the mouse.
Step 8
Add transitions between the individual fragments as needed. To do this, select the "Video Transitions" command from the "Tools" menu. Drag the thumbnail of the selected transition onto the arrow between the video segments using the same mouse.
Step 9
Save the footage. To do this, in the "Operations with films" window, select the "Save to computer" option. After clicking on this caption, a step-by-step wizard for saving a video file will open. Enter the file name and specify the location on your computer where you are going to save the video cut. Wait until the file is saved.
