Internet applications for working with an Internet channel have support not only for direct connection, but can also function through a proxy without specifying system settings. To configure the utility to operate via a server, you need to make the appropriate settings.
Instructions
Step 1
For Internet Explorer, proxy settings are performed through the "Tools" menu item. Open the program and select the "Internet Options" section by clicking on the corresponding button of the program interface. Go to the "Connections" tab. Click on "Configure Remote Access or Virtual Private Networks" and then select "Settings".

In the "Proxy server" section, check the "Use" line. In the appropriate fields, specify the data for connecting to your proxy, and then click "Advanced" and check the box "One proxy for all protocols". Optionally, you can specify a list of sites, when accessing which you would not want to use an intermediate connection. Apply all changes by clicking on the OK button.

To set up a proxy in Google Chrome, you need to install the corresponding plugin. Open the program and click on the menu button in the upper right corner of the application window.

Select Tools - Extensions - More Extensions. In the plugin store window that opens, enter "Proxy" and choose the most convenient connection manager. Click "Install" and wait for the download to finish.

Go to the extensions section again and enable the plugin you just installed. To change the parameters, click on the "Settings" link and enter the data you need to use. Save the changes and restart the browser, after which you can start using the program in the mode of connecting to a proxy server.

For other utilities, the corresponding sections of the settings are used. So, to run uTorrent in proxy download mode, click "Settings" - "Application Settings". Click on the "Connection" item in the left part of the window that appears and in the "Proxy server" section, set the type of connection you are using and enter the necessary data, and then click "Save". Changing parameters is done in a similar way in many other programs. Proxy configuration is complete.
