Imagine that you have a huge video library at home, consisting of interesting films and recordings that are dear to your heart. And at the same time, you have a computer with a 500 GB hard drive that can fit all of this. After all, videotapes deteriorate over time, especially if they gather dust idle on the shelf. And this means inevitable damage to recordings and sound quality. It is possible to transfer a videotape to a computer.

By rewriting the videotape on your PC, you will preserve the recordings dear to your heart

Instructions

Step 1

It should first be noted that recording from a videotape to a computer is possible in the same quality as it is stored on the tape. Additional effects will add color, but the image will not improve from this. This procedure is only available in special studios and is very expensive. But still, you can keep records for a long time and avoid further deterioration in their quality.

Step 2

In addition to a computer and video cassettes with a video player, we need a video capture card (TV tuner) equipped with inputs for receiving a video signal. Software for receiving and transcoding video is usually supplied with the card.

Step 3

We install the board in the PC and turn on the VCR, which should already be connected to the board (see the instructions for it). We install all the software on the computer and select the cassettes. We turn on the videotape and the recording program on the PC. Then press the Start button and wait for the end of the recording. Do not forget to press the Stop button at the end of the recording.

Step 4

We stop recording, and by this time the result of our work appears on our computer - a video. All that remains is to edit the recording, add some interesting effects if you wish, and our videotape will become digitized and completely ready for viewing. If you want to "transfer" the recording to disc, just burn it there using Nero Start Smart or any other similar program.
