Chinese language learners need to be able to read texts, write hieroglyphs and open Chinese websites on a computer. But usually all signs of hieroglyphic writing are displayed in the form of squares. To use the Chinese language, you need to install hieroglyph support and select a few of your favorite fonts.

Instructions
Step 1
Take the Windows boot disk of the version that is installed on your computer. Open the control panel. Click on "Start", "Settings" and select "Control Panel". In Windows 7, the Control Panel is located directly on the Start Menu. Click the Regional and Language Options button and click the Languages tab. Check the box next to the phrase "Install support for writing in hieroglyphs".
Step 2
A window will appear asking you to insert the system disk. Complete your request. The system will install hieroglyphic writing. After completion, you need to go back to the "Languages and Regional Standards" and click the "Details" button. In the window that appears with the installed languages, select "Add" and find the Chinese language (PRC) and the Chinese keyboard layout in the list, select them. In Windows 7, you must also check the box next to Microsoft IME. Save your changes. If Chinese does not appear in the language bar, restart your computer.
Step 3
If you do not have a bootable disk, then you can install support for hieroglyphic writing using the official Microsoft website. You can download the required file package from it, and then follow the instructions above. In some cases, the systems are slightly different from each other, and Windows may not find the files it needs. Click Browse, open the i386 / lang folder from the downloaded package, select the cplexe.ex_ and xjis.nl_ files. The files will start downloading automatically.
Step 4
After installing the Chinese language, you will have one SimSun font available, but you can download additional ones. Unpack the downloaded font archive, open the control panel and the Fonts folder. Select the "Install Font" command, find the required disk and the downloaded font. Click OK. To test the installation, open a Chinese document. If the text is not displayed well, select it and find the installed one in the list of fonts, select it.
