Many commands are executed with the mouse. The Windows operating system allows you to apply different settings for different hardware, including the mouse. Assign buttons for right-handers and left-handers, set the number of clicks to open windows and execute commands, choose the type of cursor - this and much more can be customized to fit your needs and needs in just a few clicks.
Instructions
Step 1
To open folders and launch programs with a single click of the mouse button, open any folder. On the top menu bar, select the "Tools" item, in the drop-down menu, select the "Folder Options" item. On the General tab, under Mouse Clicks, use a marker to mark the One-Click Open, Select With Pointer box. Click the "Apply" button, close the window by clicking on the "OK" or "X" button. To install a double click, go through all the steps, in the section "Mouse clicks" select the item "Double open and select with one click." Confirm your choice, close the properties window.
Step 2
To customize the buttons for right-handed or left-handed use, follow these steps. From the Start menu go to Control Panel. If you have selected the classic panel view, select the "Mouse" icon. If the icons in the Control Panel are displayed by category, navigate to the Mouse Properties window through the Printers and Other Hardware category. On the Mouse Buttons tab, select the Button Configuration section. Check the Swap Button Assignment box to re-configure the mouse for left-handed use. When the mouse is configured for right-handed use, the field is blank. Here you can adjust the speed of the double click.
Step 3
Pointers can be customized from the same window by going to the Pointers tab. From the Outline drop-down menu, choose how you want the cursor to look. In the central part of the tab window, you can see how the new cursor will look when performing certain operations. From the Pointer Options tab, you can adjust the speed at which the pointer moves across the monitor screen. Adjust the "slider" in the "Move" section. You can set the number of lines by which the document will be moved when scrolling the mouse wheel from the "Wheel" tab. To increase or decrease the number of lines, enter a number in the field using the keyboard, or use the up and down arrows at the right edge of the field. To confirm your choice, click the "Apply" button and close the properties window.
