Buying a stationary computer or laptop without a preinstalled operating system, you can save a fairly large amount. Naturally, in such cases, you need to be able to install Windows yourself.
Necessary
Windows disk
Instructions
Step 1
First, try to install the operating system Windows 7. Firstly, this is a fairly new OS from Microsoft, and secondly, during the installation of this operating system, you can create several partitions on your hard disk.
Step 2
Open the DVD drive and insert the Windows Seven installation disc into it. Reboot your laptop. Press Del or F2 (depending on laptop brand) to enter BIOS. Find the Boot Device Priority menu. Open the First Boot Device option and set your drive as the primary bootable device.
Step 3
Click the Save & Exit button. After restarting the laptop, the screen displays the line Press any key to boot from CD. Press any key on your keyboard to boot from disk.
Step 4
If you are using a disk containing several versions of the operating system, then select the one you need and click the "Next" button. Select the language for the installer. Please note that the selected language will only apply to the installation process, and not to the operating system itself.
Step 5
When a window appears on the screen containing a list of existing hard drives, click the "Disk Setup" button. In the event that you want to create several partitions, select the existing disk and click the "Delete" button.
Step 6
Click the Create button. Select the file system format for the future local disk. Set its size. Repeat this algorithm to create one or more partitions.
Step 7
Select the local drive where you want to install the operating system and click the "Next" button.
Step 8
After a while, the laptop will automatically restart. Create and enter a name for the main user, set a password for him. Choose how the firewall works.
Step 9
After the first login to the operating system, be sure to install an antivirus and, if desired, a firewall.
