Instructions

Step 1

Purchase an operating system disc. Start your personal computer. Insert the disc into the drive. Go to bios. To do this, press the delete button when starting the computer. You will see a blue screen with menu items arranged in two columns.

Step 2

Among them, find the Boot Options item. Use the arrows to navigate to it, then press the Enter button. In the paragraph itself, find Boot Device Priority. Select your drive as the primary boot device. Then save your changes.

Step 3

To do this, go to the main bios menu using the Esc button. Select Save & Exit Setup. Press Enter, then y, then Enter again. Your personal computer will restart automatically.

Step 4

Select the language for installing the operating system. After that, you will see a list of hard drives. Most likely, there will be only one disk in the list, because on a “bare” computer, no one will specifically partition the disk into several local ones.

Step 5

Click on the "Disk Setup" button, then click "Delete". Then - the "Create" button. Specify the size of the local disk that will serve as the system disk. If you are installing an operating system of one of the latest versions, such as Windows Vista or 7, then the volume of the local disk should preferably be at least 50 GB. The second local disk will be created automatically. All the space remaining on the hard disk will be assigned to it.

Step 6

Accept the changes to install the system on the new computer. Next, start the installation of the operating system. In the next 30-40 minutes, you will act exclusively as an observer. During the installation process, the system will acquaint you with its capabilities and differences from the previous version. After it is installed, the computer will automatically restart. The operating system is installed, your personal computer is ready for work.
