The taskbar in the Windows graphical interface is a stripe that is located along the bottom of the desktop by default. It displays very important interface elements - the "Start" button, icons of windows of running applications and a "tray" with a clock and icons, which from time to time issues informational notifications. Disabling the taskbar is not provided in the OS settings, but through carelessness the user can set such parameters for its display that the panel will have to be searched for and returned to its usual form.

Instructions

Step 1

If the panel is not visible at all on the screen, then it may be in a mode that hides it. In this state, the panel pops up only when you move the mouse pointer over it, call the OS main menu, or, if necessary, display any notification from a running application. The easiest way is to call it on the screen by pressing the Win button or the Ctrl + Esc key combination. Immediately after that, right-click on the empty space on the panel and select Properties from the context menu. Uncheck the "Automatically hide the taskbar" checkbox - this is the third from the top setting on the "Taskbar" tab that opens by default. Here you can also change the position of the panel - place it vertically along the left or right edges of the desktop or above it. The drop-down list "Position of the taskbar on the screen" is intended for this. Then click the OK button and the panel will stop hiding from you.

Step 2

If the hiding setting of the taskbar is disabled, it can also be practically invisible if its width is changed to the minimum possible size. In this case, only a narrow strip of one pixel may remain from the panel, on which it is impossible to distinguish any icons, buttons or hours. To return to normal dimensions, move the mouse pointer over this strip. You will know that you have precisely positioned it by changing the pointer - it will become a double-headed vertical arrow. At this moment, press the left mouse button and drag the border of the panel towards the center of the screen to the desired distance from the edge.

Step 3

To avoid these inconveniences in the future, after you finish fixing the incorrect display of the taskbar, fix its position. This can be done through the context menu of the panel - click on the free space on it with the right mouse button and check the box next to the item "Dock the taskbar" in the pop-up list of commands.
