The *.ppt extension means the file belongs to presentations or editable slideshows containing video, audio, graphics, or formatted text, created in Office PowerPoint version 97-2003.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button to perform the operation of checking the compatibility of the presentation created in the office application PowerPoint versions 97-2003 installed on the computer and go to the "All Programs" section.
Step 2
Point to Microsoft Office and launch PowerPoint.
Step 3
Select the presentation to be checked for compatibility and open the Microsoft Office menu on the top toolbar of the application window.
Step 4
Select Prepare and select the Compatibility Check command.
Step 5
Use the following applications to fully display *.ppt files
- Microsoft PowerPoint versions 97-2003;
- Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer versions 97-2003;
- Nuance OmniPage Professional;
- ACD Systems Canvas
or install the specialized Office Converter Pack containing text converters and image filters to make presentations compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint versions 2007 and later.
Step 6
Download the Oconvpck.exe package from the official Microsoft website and install it on your computer, or select the option to download the complete Office Resource Kit (Ork.exe) and install it.
Step 7
Call the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button and go to the "Run" item to start the procedure for starting the installation tool of the Office File Converter Pack manually.
Step 8
Specify a value
drive_name: / Program Files / ORKTools / ORK11 / TOOLS / Office Converter Pack / OCONVPCK.exe
in the "Open" field and confirm the execution of the command by pressing the OK button.
Step 9
Confirm your agreement with the terms of the license agreement by clicking the "Yes" button in the system request window that opens and apply the selected changes by clicking the "Close" button.
